Pregnant women are not advised to travel after 34 weeks. If under 34 weeks, it is still recommended you seek medical advice and clearance from your doctor before travelling with us.
Guests with pre-existing medical conditions are advised to seek a doctor’s clearance before travel.
Travel to Tiwi Island Retreat and participation on our tours / activities is at your own risk.
Accommodation / packages are not confirmed until either 30% deposit or full payment is received (as per Payment Terms below).
All tours / activities are subject to availability. All tours / activities will only going ahead if minimum numbers are met.
The company reserves the right to alter the tour specifications, timings, and / or itinerary without compensation if operationally required, including when minimum numbers aren’t met.
Whilst every care is taken for the safety and wellbeing of our passengers, it is strongly advised that all guests have their own travel insurance suitable for the activities undertaken at Tiwi Island Retreat.
If guests miss their flight departure, their accommodation will be forfeited.
Payment & Cancellation Policy
- A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking and must be paid within 7 days of making your reservation.
- The remaining balance is due 60 days prior to arrival.
- Bookings made within 60 days of arrival require full payment at the time of booking.
Cancellation Policy
- More than 60 days before arrival: 30% deposit is forfeited.
- 60 days or less before arrival: All monies paid are non-refundable.
At the discretion of Tiwi Island Retreat, payments may be held as a guest credit for a future booking rather than forfeited. Any credit offered is subject to availability and the terms advised at the time of cancellation.
Cots and highchairs are provided FOC – please request at the time of booking.
Children 3 years and under are entitled to complimentary accommodation in existing bedding, providing they are staying with a parent or guardian.
We do not have child minding facilities so parents must maintain suitable supervision of their children at all times.

Tiwi Island Retreat reserves the right to refuse service or terminate a guest’s stay without refund if their behaviour is considered unsafe, illegal, abusive, or disruptive to staff, other guests, or the operation of the retreat.
Tiwi Island Retreat cannot be held responsible for disruptions caused by events beyond our control, including cyclones, severe weather, flooding, natural disasters, government restrictions, airline or ferry cancellations, or other force majeure events.
If the Retreat Remains Open
- If the retreat is open and accessible, our standard cancellation policy applies, regardless of weather forecasts or anticipated weather events.
If Travel to the Retreat Is Prevented
- If guests are unable to reach the retreat due to commercial flight or ferry cancellations, government restrictions, or other force majeure events, we may offer, at our discretion:
- A rebooking within 12 months; or
- A guest credit valid for 12 months.
If the Retreat Is Forced to Close
- If Tiwi Island Retreat is unable to operate due to a force majeure event, guests may choose either:
- A full refund of monies paid to the retreat; or
- A rebooking or guest credit.
We strongly recommend all guests take out comprehensive travel insurance, as Tiwi Island Retreat is not responsible for costs such as flights, ferry tickets, accommodation, vehicle hire, lost wages, or other travel-related expenses.
Rates quoted are in Australian Dollars ($AUD) and are subject to change at any time, without notice, in the event of changes to government charges, taxes, or levies.
Rates are inclusive of GST.
Any verbal rate quoted is only an estimate of price, which will be subject to written advice on confirmation of the reservation upon receipt of request.
All rate conditions should be confirmed at the time of booking.
All payments from overseas bank accounts must pay the invoice in full. Any bank and / or transaction fees are not payable by Tiwi Island Retreat.
All debit and credit card payments are subject to a 1.6% transaction fee.
