As you touch down, our friendly staff will greet you at the Port Hurd airstrip and transfer you to the Retreat, located just a short boat drive away.

After settling into your beachfront accommodation, take the opportunity to explore the Retreat’s coastline. While swimming in the ocean is not possible due to crocodiles, you can enjoy a peaceful walk along the beach or relax by the pool.

As the sun dips below the horizon, you’ll witness a signature Tiwi Islands sunset, best enjoyed with a cocktail in hand. Day 2: Full-Day Fishing Adventure

Kick off your first full day with a hearty breakfast before setting out on a half day fishing experience. The waters around Tiwi Islands are known for their incredible variety of species, including jewfish, giant trevally, golden snapper, and coral trout. Whether you’re a seasoned fisho or a first-timer, the Retreat’s experienced guides, Dwayne and Vince, will ensure an exciting day on the water. With top-notch equipment and local knowledge, you’re bound to reel in a trophy catch.

Return back to the Retreat for lunch before you’ll embark on an estuary fishing adventure. Set out with a guide to discover hidden fishing spots down the winding estuaries surrounding the Retreat. Depending on the tides, you may even have the chance to pull up mud crabs or target barramundi.

As the day winds down, head back to the Retreat and bring in your catch of the day, which will be prepared for you later that evening. Before dinner, head down Five Mile Beach for a sunset bonfire with canapes and drinks. It’s a relaxed, yet incredible way to experience the beauty of the island.
